About us

The Westlake High School Library Research Center and Learning Commons is an active library with an open-door policy.   We believe that information literacy and research strategies are best taught within the context of the class assignment.

The library staff assists teachers and students with all reference needs from planning technology use to class projects to research needs.  The librarians instruct classes on good resources, work with students individually, and plan units with teachers that use the most recent technology and book resources.   We explore cutting edge technologies and websites with students in order to prepare them for college level research experiences.

The library is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Wednesday and 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursdays. Our Friday hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
