Welcome back with authors, sci fi, and more!

Wow, summer is over and September is already here!   Join us in the library this month for some cool stuff!

Last week, it was our celebration of Star Trek’s first tv episode!   Congrats to winners of our trivia contest and the two winners of Spock Ears!

In two weeks, our next celebration is Stephen King’s birthday!  You know–the guy who wrote Pet Sematary Cujo, and Under the Dome?  Come by on September 20 to check out our Stephen King display and have a bite of a Stephen King birthday cake!

And best of all, don’t forget to check out the Austin Teen Book Festival, right here at the Austin Convention Center, on September 28th.   You won’t believe all the awesome authors coming–everyone from Maggie Stiefvater to Sarah Dessen to S.A. Bodeen and Brian Yansky!    And the author of brand new title, Solstice, that I can’t wait to read because it is set in Austin, Texas!  The festival is free, open all day, and you can meet and greet your favorite authors.  Hope we see you there!

Coming soon–Austin Teen Book Fest Oct. 1!

The Austin Teen Book Festival is coming soon!  It’s being held at Palmer Auditorium this year, on October 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If you are a fan of  Pretties, Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, Tantalize, Halo, or Alfred Kropp novels, you’ll want to be there.   A full list of authors can be found on the Austin Teen Book festival website.

The theme this year is Steampunk!  in honor of opening speaker Scott Westerfeld, and there will be music, books to get autographed, photos with the authors, and more.   A very cool way to meet authors up close and personal!

Be sure to follow Austin Teen Book Festival on FB or @austintbf on Twitter for more info!
