CELEBRATE FREE SPEECH WEEK OCTOBER 17-21
In 1791, the 1st Amendment to the U.S. Bill of Rights guaranteed freedom of speech. Since 2005, Free Speech Week (FSW) has taken place the third week of October annually to celebrate and raise public awareness of the importance of freedom of speech and of a free press in our democracy. Our librarian, Ms. Darrow, has created a self paced lesson for High School students featuring information about the U.S. Bill of Rights, American Library Association Bill of Rights, censorship and the freedom of speech and reading.
